April 8, 2022 - June 3, 2022
Submission Deadline: Midnight, November 15, 2021

The Appalachian mountains are home to one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in the United States. As Appalachian artists, we draw our inspiration from this abundance and celebrate it. For this competition, Create Appalachia seeks artistic works of visual art that show the artist’s original vision, demonstrate technical skill, and that highlight our natural bounty. Open to all media in the visual arts, including film/video, digital media, photography, textiles & fiber art, painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry crafts, & more.
Leaf & Root & Berry: a Botanical Art Show & Competition is presented by Create Appalachia. Accepted works for this exhibit will be displayed prominently in Create Appalachia’s gallery in the Kingsport Innovation Village at 225 West Center Street, Kingsport, TN, and online exhibit at CreateAppalachia.org.
